ReplyDeleteWe help at our church making baskets for the needy in our small town, we also have a family we buy Christmas for each year, they have two small children.
ReplyDeleteWe always bake lots of sweet treats and give them to various people in town! This year, they are doing an adopt a senior program here where you can adopt a senior citizen that doesn't have any family and do something special with them for christmas. We are going to participate in that!

I take my 96 year old Aunt out to do here Christmas shopping and we make a day of it by even enjoying lunch together.
ReplyDeleteI gave my Grandmother a large selection of cookies and candy that she could share with her friends in the nursing home since she can not get out and buy for herself.

ReplyDeleteMy husband is a teacher and we help put together a Christmas morning breakfast and gifts for a deserving student's family who is having hard times.

ReplyDeleteA few of my sisters, my parents and myself adopted a family this year, we are making this an annual tradition. I've had more fun shopping for the girl I'm buying for than I have shopping for my own kids! I'm so glad we are getting to do this!

I like to buy a stack of Starbucks gift cards,5 dollars on each,and hand them out to random people out shopping.You can always tell when someone just needs a little pick me up.It's really selfish because it makes me feel good. courtafi2138 at gmail dot com.

ReplyDeleteSomething I do to spread holiday cheer is when I'm traveling for the holidays and come to a toll road, I pay to toll for the car behind me and ask the booth attendant to tell them Merry Christmas!

ReplyDeleteI bake cookies for our elderly neighbor. I donate to the Red Kettle campaign for the Salvation Army.
ReplyDeleteWe do lots of baking and help out with the bake sales and pto at the schools for crafts and baked goods. We also bring a bag of toys to the local daycare for a day of sharing and giving. It can be anything from a book, toy, card, picture etc.
ReplyDeleteI help my friends if they need it. I also make goodies and make sure to always be nice and smile at others!! I wish I could afford to do something monetary but money is typically tight around here!! So I help others by support and kindness :)

ReplyDeleteThis year we took an Angel tag from the Giving Tree and went shopping for a needy child. The local paper is reporting that one of the programs that serves 1,700 children is in desperate need of donations :( I hope they reach their goal so that everyone can have a Merry Christmas!

ReplyDeleteOur neighborhood is basically poor. Our church hosts a free Thanksgiving supper for the neighborhood. Rolls are my assignment. Instead of going to the d=store and buying bunches of rolls, I make homemade rolls, lots and lots of homemade rolls. I think they really appreciate the extra effort.
