My favorite Halloween childhood memory is dressing up at school in our costumes and doing a parade around the neighborhood and having a class party.
ReplyDeleteHalloween isnt celebrated where I live but when I was little I always used to imagine myself dressing up as a vampire, I just adore the halloween culture
ReplyDeleteWe did not celebrate Halloween but we did have my sister's birthday party and everyone got together for that instead of dressing up and going out.
ReplyDeletemy most memorable experience was the year i was dressed as a nurse and more than one adult had me take their pulse at the door...funny!

My favorite childhood Halloween memory was when I dressed up as a Raggedy Ann doll. It was my favorite costume!
ReplyDeleteMy favorite memory is going trick or treating with a number of the kids in our neighborhood. We'd all start out by having pizza at one of my friends homes on our block and then we'd all go out together, including a number of parents. It was kind of a tradition. Afterwards, depending if it was late or not and if it was a school night or not, we'd go back to someone's house and house some snacks and drinks.
ReplyDeleteMy friend and I made a haunted house halloween costume out of a huge cardboard box. The windows were our eyes and we walked all over our neighborhood together in that box.

I don't know if I have a favorite childhood memory of Halloween - I just remember candy. But as an adult, we had a child come to the door dressed up as an iPod and she sang when you deposited candy. It was so cute!
ReplyDeletewhen i was little it wasn't that popular here but my most funny emmory is when i made a dessert for a tchullu roleplaying game on halloween... they ate it in teh dark.. they all had teh same but each of them told me it was a different taste ( cherry, strawberry, banana, etc etc while it was simple vanilla^^;;) i still smile each time i remember their guesses

ReplyDeleteMy best friend/roomate and I made a haunted house in our apartment complex. Me and 3 of our neighbors all got together and made each of our apartments are haunted house for the kids in the neighborhood. We all had different themes too. Our house was the haunted hospital. It was so much fun!

ReplyDeleteOne of my fave Halloween memories is of when my mom threw a party for all the kids in the neighborhood.I remember I was dressed as Slimer from Ghostbusters.It was just me in a green sheet with green makeup smeared randomly on my face.Snazzy right? Anyway,we bobbed for apples and all I remember is the smell of the makeup and how it ran all down the sheet from the water.I did snag an apple though,lol! courtafi2138 at gmail dot com.

I always loved when my dad took me and my little brother to the local haunted house and then trick or treating.Ahhh to be a kid again!
ReplyDeleteMy mom is a Fundie, we didn't celebrate Halloween AT ALL. She turned out all the lights at 5, and we had to go to bed so that people would think we weren't home. My kids have had the best halloweens ALWAYS. I made up for it with them :D

ReplyDeleteMy mom made all our Halloween costumes when we were in Elementary School. She kept those costumes for years. One year after we had grown up, we decided to dress the dog that we had just gotten, in one of the costumes. The only one that fit was the clown costume, so he helped answer the door for the trick or treaters in his clown costume lol

ReplyDeleteI remember when I was a kid and we walked around our neighborhood. This one house just had a scarecrow sitting on the chair with a bowl of candy and the note said take a piece of candy. BUT as we did this the scarecrow come alive and chased us.

My favorite things to do around Halloween when growing up was when I was 2 and dressed up as a cat!

ReplyDeleteWe would go out in our neighborhood and the kids would be lined up waiting to go to the doors. We get very few kids now where we live but we still give out candy to the kids who come.

ReplyDelete3 years ago I took my daughter out trick or treating. She was dressed as a princess. I followed behind the group of her and her friends. She was so cute. She acted like a little princess. Then we all came to our house and had a Halloween party and gave out prizes for trading candy. It was such fun. The entire neighborhood had a blast.

My mom always dressed up as a witch and the kids had to come in and she blindfolded them and had them put their hands in a bowl of spaghetti noodles (worms) and grapes (bats eyes) and other stuff.

ReplyDeleteI'm not sure if it's my favorite memory, but it's the most memorable. When I was in first grade, my mother came to school for the parade. When she took me back to my class, she handed the crying, hysterical mess that was her daughter to the teacher who was dressed in a large wizard costume. I didn't know who it was was, so kicking and punching ensued until they finally managed to calm me down and explain who it was... I'm pretty sure that she was a somewhat mean teenager, so I don't feel bad. :-)

ReplyDeleteWhen I was really young my aunt would make my halloween costumes. She could make anything using paper grocery store bags and construction paper. One year she made me a lady bug costume. Another year I was a puppy.

ReplyDeleteWe didn't trick or treat when we were young, because we lived too far out of town. But, my favorite memory with my children is making their costumes, and seeing how excited they were. They both still love Halloween.

ReplyDeleteOne Halloween, I was in a wheelchair and my mom and grandmother, decorated it like it was a broom, with flowing black strips of fabric to hide the wheels. I wore a witch outfit and it looked like I was flying when pushed. It was really cool! :)
