Books are so important for the healthy growth of our children and it's my belief that we should be providing them with interesting books about Christianity. The Holy Bible is a large and somewhat intimidating book for school-age children, but the National Geographic Kids 1,000 Facts About The Bible is a fun, engaging book that they will reach for again and again. This hardbound book is simply beautiful, with colorful pages printed on high-quality paper that feature facts that are clearly marked so that they are easy to read, easy to share aloud, and easy to remember. Some of the topics include 25 Beastly Facts About Animals, 15 Bouncing Biblical Baby Facts, and 50 Facts About Miracles. Children will be interested to find out things like: "Desert tribesmen wore earrings and necklaces. Sometimes they used them to pay for room and board on a journey." and "The full Bible has been translated into more than 1,000 Languages." There are so many things to explore and enjoy in this book and the format is perfect for a child's style of learning.
National Geographic Kids 1,000 Facts About The Bible also comes complete with a glossary, annotations, an index, and a listing of additional resources both in print and online. The final lines in the book's forward, written by the renowned biblical scholar Jean-Pierre Isbouts, sums up this fascinating book best: "Whether you are Christian or Jewish, or you simply want to better understand the importance of the Bible in our modern times, National Geographic Kids 1,000 Facts About The Bible is not only a trustworthy guide but also a very entertaining one. It will introduce you to many amazing people, countless exotic places, and scores of exciting events."

ReplyDeleteThis website has many different creative toys. I am book marking the National Geographic page so I can remember this when one of the grandkids asks for this kind of gift. A few of them love to build and design things. I was really interested in this Smart Car Robotics Kit (and it's on sale). The kit's construction system also allows you to build seven cool models in addition to the smart car, which includes step-by-step instructions. VERY COOL!
