I just got the Paper Pumpkin craft kit for March! It's called Layers of Gratitude and it contains all the supplies needed to create 8 accordion-style thank you cards that fit into little kraft boxes. Every month Paper Pumpkin from Stampin' Up! creates a new, original craft kit for its monthly subscribers. The Layers of Gratitude craft kit comes with full instructions, which you can also find online in a step-by-step video. I really appreciate having some direction on these projects, but I love having the freedom to add my own personal flair to each project if I want.
This kit contains two ink pads in Pool Party and Daffodil Delight, a photopolymer stamp set with seven different stamps, 8 white accordion card bases, 48 felt letter stickers that spell out the word "thanks," 8 ready-to-fold kraft boxes, adhesive strips for the boxes, and baker's twine.
Using the included instructions, I first stamped the card bases with the included stamps, using alternating colors on every other section of the card. On a couple of the sections, I included both colors of ink.
I added the "thanks" felt letters to the card, on top of the stamped sections. I love the thickness of the felt letters. All the supplies are very high-quality and even when this project is complete, I can use the leftover supplies for other creative projects! I took a couple of close-up shots of each section of my first card, so you could see the entire card opened up:
To assemble the card boxes (aka envelopes), all I had to do was fold them over and apply 3 strips of the adhesive to each one to hold the sides closed. The outside of the card boxes can also be stamped if you wish to make them a bit fancier, but I love the simplicity of kraft paper.
Then each card is folded accordion-style and slides easily into the card box. I then cut a piece of the baker's twine and wrapped them around the card boxes, tying them into bows to hold the boxes closed until time comes for opening.
The Layers of Gratitude craft kit from Paper Pumpkin provided me a wonderful activity that allows me to show my appreciation for those around me in a creative, handmade way. Homemade gifts often mean more to those who receive them. A Paper Pumpkin monthly subscription would be a wonderful Mother's Day Gift!
