Whether you're hosting a Halloween party or just adding some spooky decor to your home for Halloween, you can find eerie elements for your design at QVC. Check out this 10" illuminated Jack-O-Lantern from Bethlehem Lights that came from QVC's holiday shop! This Jack-O-Lantern is lined with a layer of glitter, which reflects the built-in lighting, making it glow with a very menacing look. The lighting is in the lid, operates with 3 AAA batteries, and can even be set on a timer. I love that there is no dangerous flame!
Best of all, I can use it year after year! I decided to use my Jack-O-Lantern to create a spooky scarecrow to help me pass out candy to the neighborhood trick-or-treaters that come to my house on Halloween this year.
I raided my husband's closet and decided his flannel shirt was the perfect belly. I tucked two throw pillows inside the shirt and buttoned it closed. I stuffed some tshirts down the pants legs of his old jeans and tucked the legs into a pair of his boots.
I set up the clothing on the front porch bench, added a pair of gloves for hands, and placed my Jack-O-Lantern on top of the scarecrow's shoulders. Of course I named him Jack! I surrounded Jack with some smaller pumpkins and a scarecrow to complete the Halloween look.
I turned on the light inside of the Jack-O-Lantern and waited for dusk. As the evening grew darker, I was so excited to see how creepy he looked sitting on the front porch. Halloween is certainly the season for scaring and Jack is ready for that!
Would YOU help yourself to more than one piece of candy if this face was glaring at you? I think I'll crack open a the front window on Halloween and play some spooky music towards the front porch too. This year is going to be super spooky for the kids!

Well, it's a little late for this year's Halloween (which didn't really happen here: it got rained and wind gusted out!) but I'll make a note for next. As much fun as it to carve pumpkins (and I like to use the "meat" of the pumpkin for pies or breads and I roast the seeds with seasonings for healthy snacking!) we stopped doing it because the the SQUIRRELS literally tear them apart. The whole neighborhood is literally littered with massacred pumpkins!
