Anti-Aging Serum from Perfective Ceuticals - Review

Disclosure: I received this product at no charge in exchange for my honest review.
Although my daughter is now in her twenties and my sons are heading off to college, I refuse to admit that I'm getting older. I feel like I'm reading the preface to the next chapter of my life and I'm excited to see what the future will bring for me. It's also been a bit stressful, retiring from daycare, selling the house, renting a house, planning a move. I've been using Perfective Ceutical Divine Age Guardian Serum with growth factor for the past month, hoping it will help me ward off any wrinkles that might try to creep in from stress and age. Not that I'm getting older or anything.
I am really impressed with this anti-aging serum. Almost immediately my skin felt fresher. I love the coolness of the serum as it absorbs into the face. It is a thin liquid that you squirt into the palm of your hand, rub into both palms and then gently onto your face. It's completely clear as you can see (or not see) the pool of serum in my palm above. I like it and am thrilled I got to try it. You can purchase it HERE and see their entire line of products. You can even shop by skin type!

I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.

Fantastic Sams - Review and Giveaway

Disclosure: I received products and services at no charge in exchange for my honest review.

Summer time has arrived. Time to get your body in shape for your bikini and time to get your hair in shape too! Fantastic Sams will not only cut your hair, they have products to keep your hair looking beautiful all year long. I can't remember the last time I visited my neighborhood Fantastic Sams so I went in for a haircut recently. I was immediately greeted warmly by the stylists and I love the atmosphere of their salon. I've been in a few discount hair salons and Fantastic Sams is definitely a cut above the rest. Their waiting area has very comfortable chairs and even a child's play area with table, chairs, and toys to keep kiddos busy while mom gets some attention. Everything is also very clean and organized.
When my name was called, I was pleasantly surprised to get my hair washed and conditioned as part of my haircut. Many places just squirt your hair with water before cutting it, but Fantastic Sams takes that extra step to pamper their customers. I was looking for just a trim since I'm trying to grow all my hair out to one length and the stylist was simply wonderful. She didn't rush through my haircut and she chatted with me sincerely the entire time. She even blow-dried my hair and straightened it for me. I have lots of thick hair so it took her a while, but I could tell she was truly enjoying her job. It was a fabulous experience and I'm thrilled with my haircut. (You can see my before and after photos below. I'm not so good at taking "selfie" photos so I apologize for the quality but I wanted to show you the difference.) I've also been using their Fantastic Shampoo and Conditioner and I really love it. It foams up nice and thick, rinses clean, and leaves my hair soft. I will definitely be visiting them again!

Fantastic Sams on Facebook (check for coupons)

One lucky reader will win a bottle of Fantastic Shampoo and Conditioner, plus a free haircut at Fantastic Sams! To enter, just fill out the Rafflecopter form below. You must be at least 18 years old and reside in the USA. Giveaway ends at midnight ET on 7/1/2013. Good luck!

Pepperoni Jack Pizza Puffs #Recipe

Affiliate links included.
This is my most recent original recipe. I'm sure at some point this idea came from someone else on the internet, but nonetheless I'm going to share my recipe with you. I call them Pepperoni Jack Pizza Puffs.
I used two refrigerated Hill Country Fare Texas Style Buttermilk biscuit canisters, about half a package of Hormel Turkey Pepperoni, almost all of a chunk of HEB Monterey Jack Pepper Cheese, and maybe 1/2 cup of Kraft Parmesan Cheese. I also used some Pam Olive Oil spray and one egg, beaten.
I opened both biscuit canisters, scaring myself with the always-too-loud pop. Spread them out on the counter and flattened each one as I worked.
On each flattened biscuit, I placed a pepperoni slice, then a chunk of cheese, then a pepperoni on top of the cheese chunk.
Then I folded each biscuit around the pepperoni and cheese. I pinched together each biscuit to encircle all the tasty goodies inside.
I sprayed a bit of Pam Olive Oil Spray on the baking pan and placed all the puffs in the pan.
In a small bowl, I beat one egg and brushed the top of each puff.
Then I sprinkled (okay, dumped) Parmesan Cheese over each puff.
I baked them in a preheated oven at 400 degrees F for 20 minutes.
Then I used some tongs to distribute them to the plates. They were magnificent!

Jabu'she Anti-Aging Creme - Review

Disclosure: I received Jabu'she creme at no charge in exchange for my honest review.
Jabu'she is an award-winning Swedish anti-aging skin care line. For the past week, I've been using the 24 Hour Creme Soft on my face and hands. It's very light and creamy, and spreads cleanly onto my face. It smells absolutely wonderful, which isn't always the case with face lotions. It contains formulation QAL-100 which has antioxidant properties to help make skin glow, minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, and minimize the appearance of pores. I am very pleased with the Jabu'she Creme Soft and my facial skin especially around my eyes, as well as the back of my hands, have really benefited from its use. I tend to have sensitive skin and this face cream did not irritate my skin in any way. I also tend to have oily skin but Jabu'she Creme Soft did not increase the oil in my skin. I definitely recommend this product.

Mensgroom Premium Products for Guys - Review

Disclosure: I received Mensgroom products at no charge in exchange for my honest review.
Mensgroom premium products are personal care products for guys who don't want or need all that foofoo stuff that we girls love. Good grooming is important and my teenagers love the Mensgroom line because it's a cool line of products. When they go off to college this fall they will be assured that their personal care products won't be laughed out of the dorm. The Daily Washout is a fabulous shampoo that smells great and gets his hair squeaky clean. The Daily Shower Power is a shower gel that soaps up just enough for a guy and gets him smelling like a man (um, a clean man). If you have young teens that need encouragement to bathe more often, maybe making their showers "cooler" with Mensgroom will nudge them in there more often. My husband also loves using the products and I love snuggling with him because he smells good!
Visit http://mens-groom.com for more information and to order these and other great products for guys. You can also follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest.

Let's enjoy a stroll down memory lane; maybe a family vacation or a wonderful food from your childhood. Truly the options are endless!
As I prepare to leave the home our family has lived in for the past eight years, I'm a tad misty about leaving my backyard pool. This cute little possum showed up in our pool one morning not long after we installed it. I rescued him and set him on the grass so he could dry off and go find his mommy. We've had a few other visitors over the years, including bunnies, frogs, and a snake. It's one of the reasons I prefer not to swim at night. We've made many memories in the pool and I have lots of photos for the kids' scrapbooks.

I'm Moving! My House, not my Blog

Disclosure: Affiliate links within post.
I'm so excited to share good news. We have accepted an offer on our house to sell it and we have qualified to move in as renters to a beautiful three bedroom, two bathroom home. We will be moving at the end of the month. I've saved the realtor photos of the house to give you a preview of the new home. As soon as we get the keys, I'll go take lots of "before" photos so I can share with you the entire story of the move into our new home. And all the decorating I'm going to do!
This is the front of the home. Notice the one tree. It's the only one on the property. I see a "shade challenge" blog post coming up this summer! The gardens are very minimalist near the front door and at the edge of the drive, which is perfect for me and my minimalist plans for the home.
This kitchen is to the right of the front door once you enter. It is between the breakfast room and the great room. I like the simplicity of the white appliances and the artistry of the arched look-through into the great room. The kitchen appliances come with the rental, but keep an eye out for a post about the hunt for my new washer and dryer for the new house.
This is the master bathroom, which by the way boasts french doors as the entry, with double sinks and big tub. There is a master closet off the bathroom, which I've claimed, and another master closet in the corner of the bedroom which I've assigned to Johnny. Yes, really. I'm that deliberate.
This is the breakfast room, at the front of the house, at the front of the kitchen area. We'll be putting the dining room table (without the center leaf) and the chairs in here. This will be our primary eating area. We are planning on the great room to be both family area and computer area. The window view is the street outside the front of the house. By the way, it's a corner lot which I'm looking forward to.
The builder of the house probably intended this great room to be used as formal dining area and family room area. I really love the dark wood floors and plan on using area rugs to designate the family area, computer area, and the dining room / breakfast room. That door leads to the back yard, where there is a small covered patio and small uncovered patio area. There are two ceiling fans in the great room plus a fireplace (which may or may not ever get used).
This is the backyard and the sun shines full force on it every afternoon. I"m planning on more container gardening and will use my new misting fan half an hour every day to combine my sun exposure with my plant watering. I love that there is nothing in the entire backyard area that I have to maintain. It'll be simply, water, mow, water, mow, and that's Johnny's job anyways. I'm very excited about our new adventure!
