Cooking with fresh herbs is one of the best parts of summer time. Many people have the talent, time, and patience to grow their own. Not me! Instead I love to use fresh, frozen herbs from Daregal Gourmet Herbs. They also offer infusions and cooking aids so you can be a master chef in your kitchen without all the hassle of growing, washing and chopping.
I feel good knowing that Daregal products are 100% natural, preservative-free, salt-free, non-GMO, gluten-free and kosher. All I have to do is pull one from the freezer, shake the box to loosen up the product, shake some on my food, and put it back in the freezer. It doesn't get easier than that! Since 1887, Daregal has been family owned and operated in France, and they are now the world's leading producer of culinary-grade herbs.
One of my favorite dishes with Ginger (Gingembre) is Ginger Broccoli. In a skillet, combine one tablespoon of extra virgin olive with three tablespoons of Ginger and gently stir until bubbling. Add fresh or frozen broccoli and one tablespoon of red wine vinegar, stir to heat again, then serve. It's healthy, delicious and so easy to make. I love being able to finish off my dishes with gourmet herbs.
I use the Chives (Ciboulette) on anything and everything that has potatoes. One of my favorite ways to use Chives is to sprinkle them on top of hot soups, like this bowl of Cheesy Potato Soup. It is also fabulous in sour cream to make a chip dip. Just add a tablespoon of Chives to 8 ounces of sour cream, stir, and enjoy.
