CONGRATULATIONS TO WINNER - KEN OHL
As I sat down to watch this DVD today in my comfortable chair in my comfortable house, I was only a few minutes into the movie when I received a text from my husband that explosions had rocked the Boston Marathon. I paused the DVD for a moment and turned on the news. Not wanting to make assumptions, the newsman said there wasn't any real information available yet, so rather than immerse myself in the media reports, I turned back to watch This Is Our Time. It's the story about five newly graduated college students who are friends that have a strong faith. They have a desire to seize God's calling in their lives and make a difference in the world.
Just like in reality, a horrible death happens in the movie that challenges their faith and belief in a loving God. Struggling to find meaning and purpose in awful events and grappling with moving on in the face of those events, I imagined those in Boston dealing with the same kinds of emotions and feelings. The movie made me laugh and cry, gave me inspiration, and reassured me that even in our time, this is really God's time and God's purpose. We each are created for Him and by Him. Although we sometimes don't understand why things happen, it's important to stay obedient to His word and be the light for others.
It's a wonderful story of how powerful love is, even in the face of tragedy. I pray for those in Boston today and those around the world who are hurting in many ways. I pray each of us discovers who we are to be for His purpose. This a wonderful story and I'd love to share this movie with you! You can enter below to win a DVD copy of This Is Our Time.

My heart goes out to the City Of Boston today with the bombings, I will pray for comfort for all that are involved.
ReplyDeleteI have not heard any news as I try to stay away from that while focusing on Home School. My mom called to tell me as we are in RI and were planning to head to Boston this week...it is heartbreaking to know that this event, this place at this time would bear witness to such tragedy. Saddened by this...I am sure more news will come in the days ahead as we grieve with the immediate victims and families...how these things impact us all. God help us.
ReplyDeleteI've been praying all day for the victims of this terrible tragedy in Boston. So heartbreaking and sad..

ReplyDelete"And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love."--Romans 8:38
New Living Translation (NLT)
Rebecca Xavier: I live in Massachusetts, not too far away from Boston. This event just reminded me how important human life is and the fact that we do not know when our life will end. God is calling each one of us to come to Him and receive His salvation. I pray that each family that was affected by this tragedy will find comfort in God and cherish their family even more.
ReplyDeleteIt was an absolute tragedy for the city of Boston, We Americans Stand Together In The Worst Of Times And My Prayers Are With Those Who Were There That Day.

This was a stupid senseless tragedy! What causes people to "crack" and go crazy??? These types of tragedies touch not only their family and friends, but the whole United States. My thoughts and prayers to ALL involved.
