PetSmart for the Holidays - Review

Don't forget your four-legged friends this holiday season! PetSmart has dozens of fabulous new holiday pet toys and costumes to make your pets merry. Make up a little gift basket (or gift biscuit?) filled with products from Martha Stewart Pets, Disney, Top Paw and many others. I just knew Buddy would be happy to help me review the pajamas and new toys we received.

Even with a fur coat, your pets can get chilly too. These darling red plaid pet pajamas will help keep your pooch warm and cozy this winter. It was Buddy's first time to try on some clothes and he cooperated wonderfully. Except these didn't quite fit him they way they're supposed to fit. He's nearly 95 pounds and this costume was too small for Buddy.

I think he's actually glaring at me in this photo! He wouldn't even stand up with the pajamas on for me. It's supposed to fit like the photo below. I think I'll share these pajamas with my friend who has a smaller dog. They are so cute and very well made, and I love the little button accents on the back.

The pet toys were right up Buddy's alley. These two toys are made by Martha Stewart Pets. The Gingerbread Boy has rope arms and legs for a great game of pulling. They are both plush toys and have a squeaker inside for even more fun.

At first, Buddy just carried around his Gingerbread Boy. I think he was still insulted about the pajamas. After he squeaked it, his whole attitude changed and he was ready to play. He tossed it around, chewed on it and let me pull on one end so he could shake it hard.

He looks like he's saying, "Mom, quit with the camera, will ya?" He even carried his Gingerbread Boy to bed with him and slept with his chin on it. The ropes are sewed in very securely so this toy should last him a while.

The plush Toy Soldier wasn't as lucky. Buddy absolutely adored it. He promptly sat down and ripped it to shreds, joyfully tearing apart the arms and legs and pulling all the stuffing out, leaving it all over the carpeting. I seldom see this old dog so happy.

I managed to get close enough to get the squeaker away from him before he ate it, but Buddy was only interested in gnawing every scrap of the material apart. It was a riot to watch him so completely engrossed in this toy. He didn't even realize I was taking more pictures. The Toy Soldier didn't last long, but it sure brought Buddy some holiday cheer!
