L by Lenox Gilded Tapestry Fine China - Review

For as long as I can remember, I've dreamed of owning fine china. Instead, I've owned lots of plastic dishes that my darling children couldn't break. As they got older, I was brave enough to buy some ceramic dishes and only a few of those got broken. When I unwrapped a package that contained two boxes marked L by Lenox, I warned my children (who are now adults) they better not touch even the boxes.
Unwrapping each piece of Gilded Tapestry was a breathtaking experience. Each piece is a beautiful work of art, made with the same care and attention given to fine china used by kings, queens, and presidents. Lenox is one of those brand names that I've always pronounced with an air of awe. I could hardly believe I was setting my own table with it.
There are three floral motifs to each place setting that includes a dinner plate, salad plate, butter plate, and cup and saucer. They are designed to complement each other either stacked as a single setting or laid out for a delicious dinner spread. The rich autumn colors are accented with gold and create a stunning look on the table.
L by Lenox Fine China Collections come in five distinctive styles and are made right here in the USA. Although they are dishwasher safe, you can bet I'm going to personally hand-wash every single piece, every single time, with a soft cloth. I almost hated to put food on my new dishes!
Luckily for my husband, I eventually got hungry. I set up a romantic dinner for the two of us, even including two candles on the table. He was quite impressed when he came home to a chicken and vegetable dinner already on the table. He does most of the cooking because I work later than he does. I even made the bread! The cookie and coffee was the perfect ending. He offered to clear the table, but I insisted on carrying my new fine china to the sink (a bit overprotective perhaps?).
I can finally cross one item off my list of things to do before I die - Eat dinner on fine china. It was a joy to wash it and put it in my own cabinet. I also warned my boys again not to touch it. My husband laughed and asked me if we'd get to use it again. I assured him we would.
