HABA Color Fun Pegging Game - Review

HABA has launched a new consumer ecommerce and information site at www.HABAusa.com and I'm so excited to see all the wonderful open-ended play products! As an early childhood teacher, I am always searching for high-quality, durable toys that are educational and fun. HABA products are beautifully designed with child's play and imagination in mind.
I received the HABA Color Fun Pegging Game, fresh in from Germany, and I'm so impressed at the craftsmanship of these wood pieces. Even the base board has little felt circles on the bottom of it to protect play surfaces. Each piece is sanded perfectly smooth and painted with safe, water-based paint in bright, fun colors.
The children dove right in and began their very serious work of building with pegs and blocks, chatting about the heights of the pegs and the number of holes in the blocks. They experimented with stacking and color combinations, talking about their "city" and the pegs became people who lived in the little block houses. This is the best kind of play for children - the kind that encourages them to be creative and work together.
HABA's new website has so many fabulous educational toys and I'm so glad there is an online wish list option because mine is filling up fast. These are the kinds of toys that will last from one generation to the next, both in play options and in quality. Even the storage box for the Color Fun Pegging Game is made from a heavyweight, glossed cardboard.
With their safe, innovative products for infants, toddlers, and preschoolers, HABA has really captured the essence of childhood. You should see all the awards they've won from Dr. Toy Best Classic Toys, the National Parenting Seal of Approval, Oppenheim Toy Portfolio Platinum Award, and many more! HABA definitely has my seal of approval too.
Disclosure: I received this product at no charge in exchange for my honest review.
