Color It By Numbers Review

AND THE WINNER IS...
frugalmommieof2

When I was a little girl, I loved paint by number oil paintings. I remember doing the face of a Labrador one time and a Lighthouse Scene another time. I loved the color by numbers too, especially if I was using magic markers because the pictures came out so vivid. Even as an adult, I still love to color. Lucky for me I'm an early childhood teacher so I can color every day if I want and no one thinks twice about it!

I am very particular about the software I buy for the kids in my home daycare. I want it to be both educational and fun. You can read here about some of the software I use in my classroom. I was invited to share some new coloring software with my daycare kids, to see what we all thought about it. Coloring by numbers has a whole new look!

Color It By Numbers is a line of children's online coloring books. There are four different themes: animals, vehicles, princesses, and flowers. Each one has three coloring methods to choose from: Color it by numbers, Color it to make it visible, and Color it in your favorite colors. I turned my preschoolers loose on the software to see what they thought.

The Princesses Coloring Book was a solid hit with my girls. The pictures are clear and the colors are bright. They loved creating their pictures. I loved that they were practicing number recognition with the color by number option. Both my three and four year olds got the hang of this right away.
The Color to make it visible option cuts the picture into smaller pieces, which encourages the children to discover what the picture might be as they add different colors of their choice to the picture. I love the background music on these programs too. Look how engrossed she is in her picture, leaning on her hand as she works.
The free choice coloring method allows for complete creativity, as you can see from this multi-green tropical toucan she created in the animal coloring book. The boys were quickly drawn into the vehicles coloring software, which includes boats, cars, trucks, and more.
I've had some other online coloring programs for the kids, but I like this one much better and so do the kids. They were simply captivated in creativity and learning. Thanks to Color It By Numbers, we've found a coloring program that is educational and fun!
Disclosure: I received these downloads at no charge to review for you. Our opinions are always true.
