Weekend #DIY Project: Patio Bench Makeover

The wooden bench that sits on my front patio was starting to look old and weathered. It was definitely time to give it some attention. I had some leftover stain from our daybed project, so I used up what was left on my bench. I bought a couple of 47 cent paintbrushes at Walmart, so I didn't even have any cleanup!
I propped up the bench on two plastic storage bins in the garage, then gave my bench two coats of Minwax Pecan Gloss Polyshades Stain. Since it's both stain and sealer in one step, the project goes much faster. I did one coat on Saturday and another on Sunday, then carried it back out to my front patio. Each coat took me about one hour. I did absolutely no sanding before staining. The difference is incredible!
I love the new look and now I'm looking for a couple of bright outdoor throw pillows to bring some bling to the patio. What color pillows would you choose?
