Giveaway! Easter Stories - Classic Tales for the Holy Season

Disclosure: I received product at no charge in exchange for my honest review.
The significance of Easter goes far beyond bunnies and candy-filled eggs. For me, it is all about the celebration of Jesus' resurrection and the spring of new life he offers to us all. The collection of short stories in Easter Stories Classic Tales for the Holy Season left me feeling both inspired and blessed. With stories from CS Lewis, Leo Tolstoy, Oscar Wilde, and many others, Easter Stories illuminates the true meaning of Easter.

One of my favorite tales in Easter Stories include The White Lily by Jane Tyson Clement. It's the story about a man, a boy, and a dog who live in abhorrent conditions without love for each other. The man is given a brilliant white lily as a gift and it transforms their lives. I was brought to tears reading it.

Another one of my favorites is The Ragman by Walter Wangerin Jr. It's the story of a man who travels around exchanging new rags for old rags. As the Ragman acquires old rags from people, he also acquires the ailments of the person who was wearing them, and that person becomes new. It's another story that really touched my heart.

Easter Under a Park Bench by Kirk Wareham left me sobbing. In it, a boy is intrigued when he sees a homeless man sleeping under a park bench. He sits down to talk to the homeless man and learns about his life and his past. The boy invites him to spend Easter with his family the next day, but when he goes back to lead the man to his home, he discovers disappointment. It was a good reminder to me that we must reach out to those who are hurting.
