Bacon French Toast Casserole Recipe

6 slices of bacon
10 slices of sandwich bread
1 1/2 cups milk
2 tablespoons sugar, plus 2 more tablespoons sugar for topping
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon butter, soft
1 teaspoon ground cinnamoncasserole dish, then dump bread pieces into the casserole dish. Break bacon into small pieces and scatter on top of bread pieces. In a large bowl, beat 4 eggs with 1 1/2 cup milk, 2 tablespoons sugar, 1/4 tablespoon salt, 1 teaspoon vanilla extract, and 1 tablespoon softened butter. Pour over bread and bacon. For the topping, mix 2 tablespoons sugar with 1 teaspoon cinnamon, then sprinkle generously over the casserole. Place casserole dish in a 350 degrees F oven for 45 minutes. Serve warm with maple syrup. Feeds 4-6. I actually made this for our dinner, but it would be great for breakfast or lunch too!
