Mason Jar Crafts DIY Home Decor Ideas

Disclosure: I received this book at no charge in exchange for my honest review.
I have bunches of old mason jars tucked in the back of my pantry. While reading through Mason Jar Crafts by Lauren Elise Donaldson, I was surprised at all the creative ways to use the jars in decorating my home. This handy guide has over 125 full color pages of ideas, photos, and step by step instructions. There are even templates included, as well as a list of tools needed for the projects.
Lauren shares ideas on how to use both the mason jars and the lids. Some of my favorite ideas from the book include the Calligraphy Drink Jars, the Piggy Bank Jar, The Cross-Stitch Lid Ornaments, and the Plant Terrariums. She makes it look very easy, so I felt prepared and inspired to take on a project of my own (one of the easier ones, of course).
Her Cranberry Christmas display seemed simple enough for me. With a bag of fresh cranberries, some old Christmas cards, and some mason jars, Lauren created a Cranberry Christmas Display. Not only is it beautiful for home decor, it's also the perfect holiday gift for neighbors when you want to delight them without breaking your bank.
Since it's not quite Christmas yet, I decided to create a Harvest Mason Jar Candle, much like the Cranberry Jars. I filled a clean mason jar with fresh coffee beans, topped it off with a tea light candle, and tied some orange yarn around the top. Beautiful and simple! It was a wonderful surprise to discover the candle heats the beans up enough to create a wonderful mocha aroma throughout my house. I can't wait to try some more mason jar crafts!
