Preschoolers begin having nightmares around age 2-3 years old. One way to help prevent nightmares is to read a happy bedtime story each night before tucking your child into bed. This new children's picture book by JE Laufer is the perfect story! Last Night I Had a Laughmare is a happy, silly, rhyming good time. It's filled with engaging illustrations by Jeff Yesh that will keep your children's eyes on the book. The story is about the frolicking bedtime adventures in Gigglyville with Liverlips, Smellyfeet, Purplepudding and Dishes. In a fashion similar to the Dr. Seuss stories, the author inspires children to dream and imagine things like swinging on stars, rain made of honey, and circle-shaped windows.
I've read this one several times to my preschoolers and I always get requests to "read it again!" They typically wiggle and fidget during circle time, but this story always intrigues them. They love to hear it and I love to read it aloud! It would be a wonderful gift for your child or grandchild.
