This sturdy birch plywood step stool is designed to give children the independent boost they need to be able to reach those things that always seem to be "just out of reach." Designed for ages 2 and up, it'll hold up to 125 pounds! Mine has been in my home daycare bathroom for easy handwashing but it would also be great in the kitchen for preschooler cooking sessions and in the playroom too.
Here's the pathetic little stool we've been using for the past seven years. The top step is so low I still had to lift up the toddlers for handwashing. The Guidecraft High Rise Step-Up allows even my smallest two year old to reach the faucet handles by himself. (Don't worry, the hot water is turned off in this bathroom).
I love the non-slip textured stair treads because I don't have to worry that someone will slip and fall off. The side panels provide the little ones a more secure (enclosed) feeling as they stand on the top step. Best of all, the handles on the side panels offer climbing confidence while the kids are stepping up and down (going down backwards can be scary). Having the double stairs means my older children can choose the height more appropriate for them. It measures 32"h x 21"w x 17"l so it doesn't take up very much room, even in my tiny half bathroom. Assembly was simple and the natural wood is beautiful.
You can purchase this, and many other wonderful children's furniture and educational toys at http://guidecraft.com/. Be sure to follow them on Facebook, Twitter and Pinterest too! My fellow Guidecraft educators will be posting their reviews for this product also and I will link them all up shortly.
