Review - An Alphabet Trip to the Limerick Zoo ebook

I received a copy of An Alphabet Trip to the Limerick Zoo by Jeannette Ramirez and I think it's a wonderful teaching tool. It's a full color ebook that takes the reader through the alphabet, introducing animals with humorous and informational limericks. Children learn quickly when rhythm is used through poetry, much like songs. I could easily see this being used with kindergarteners to teach about letters and animals. I can also see it being used to teach a class of older children about writing limericks and rhyme. Homeschoolers could build a whole month's worth of activities around this ebook, exploring one animal per day. The animal illustrations are warm and full of character. I read An Alphabet Trip to the Limerick Zoo to my daycare group, a few animal pages at a time, and they really enjoyed listening to it. The companion coloring pages were a real bonus and a great way to extend the children's learning. You can read it on your Kindle, Nook, or iPad tablet. I received one or more of the products mentioned above for free using Tomoson.com. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and believe will be good for my readers.
